Questions

Questions and answers

  1. How much does residential pest control cost?

It depends on the pest, the size of your home and how far things have gone. In the U.S., a one-time visit for common pests like ants or spiders often runs from about $100 to $300. Ongoing plans cost more over time. Termite work and wildlife jobs can run higher. Prices vary by job, so get a written quote.

  2. Will homeowners insurance pay for pest or termite damage?

Often not. Many policies treat pests and termites as maintenance issues, so they may not cover the damage. Some policies may cover sudden damage from a related event, but terms differ a lot. Check your policy or ask your insurer. Providers can often help document damage for a claim, such as with notes and photos. Openpushing Pest Control cannot say what your policy covers.

  3. Is pest treatment safe for my kids and pets?

Safety depends on the product and how it is used. Many providers can use targeted methods, baits and sealed placements that keep products out of reach. Tell the provider about children, pets, fish tanks and anyone with asthma before work starts. Ask what is being used, where it goes and how long to stay out of a room.

  4. What are the early signs of a pest problem?

Small clues show up first. Look for droppings, gnaw marks, faint scratching in walls, or a few ants trailing along a counter. Mud tubes, tiny piles of wings or soft, hollow-sounding wood can hint at termites. Damp crawl spaces and attics are common trouble spots. If you notice something odd, a quick look now is easier than a big repair later.

  5. How can I prevent pests during the rainy season?

Long wet spells push pests indoors. Clear gutters, trim shrubs back from siding and keep firewood off the ground. Fix drips and run a fan or dehumidifier in damp areas. Seal gaps around pipes and doors. Store pantry food in tight containers. Small habits like these make a house less welcoming.

  6. How do I compare estimates from different providers?

Line them up side by side. Check what pest is being treated, what the visit includes, and whether follow-ups are covered in writing. Ask how the provider plans to stop the problem from coming back. A low price that leaves out key steps may not be the better deal. Take your time, compare, then decide.

  7. Do you offer bed bug treatment or wildlife removal?

Openpushing Pest Control does not do the work itself. It connects you with independent providers in our network, and some handle bed bug treatment or wildlife removal. Availability depends on the provider and your area. Mention what you are seeing when you request an estimate so the match fits your situation.

  8. Is termite treatment worth it if I only see a few signs?

Often, yes. Termites work out of sight, so a few signs can mean more is going on in the walls, crawl space or framing. A provider can inspect and tell you what they find. Older wood-frame homes and damp areas can be at higher risk. Getting an estimate costs you nothing to consider, and there is no obligation.
